The Charter provides the following criteria for employers and employees to meet workplace hygiene standard:
 

Workplace Cleanliness
The working environment (eg workstation, floor, passageways, exit routes, doorways, and equipment) should be clean. Employees will not inhale, accidentally ingest and come into contact with greasy dirt, dust and other impurities.

 

Free of Accumulated Water
Water and spillage should be cleared up. Arrangements should be made to ensure no water could be accumulated and become bleeding site of mosquitoes, bacteria and germs, and viruses.

 

Refuse Collection
There are waste boxes (with covers for food waste, used tissues and discarded face masks) to keep refuse. Refuse should be collected daily.

 

Drinking Facilities
For the well being of employees, drinking water should be provided at conveniently locations for employees.

 

Pantry
If there is a pantry, lunch boxes should be kept at refrigerator. Raw and cooked food is separately kept.

 

Pest Control
Rodents, mosquitoes and other insects are controlled from spreading diseases to employees.

 

Ventilation
The workplace is adequately ventilated by fresh air and free from impurities. Sources of air impurities are effectively controlled.

 

Sanitary Conveniences
Clean toilets are provided and maintained. There should be sufficient washing facilities.

 

Workplace Hygiene Information
Related information are collected and dissimilated. Suggestions for continuous improvement of workplace hygiene are always welcome.

 

Maintenance and Monitoring
There should be an efficient monitoring system to ensure hygiene facilities are properly maintained and monitored.
