SME Sponsorship Schemes

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Hong Kong's economy, and the driving force of our economic development. In order to encourage SMEs to implement OSH enhancement programmes as a means to raise their productivity and competitiveness, the Occupational Safety and Health Council has launched below sponsorship schemes for SME.

Telescopic Scaffold Tower Sponsorship Scheme for SMEs

To further enhance the work-above-ground safety, the Council and the Labour Department launch the " Telescopic Scaffold Tower Sponsorship Scheme for SMEs". Under this scheme, SMEs can purchase user-friendly, safety-certified work equipment, designed for diverse work scenarios, at an affordable cost of just $1,875.

Sponsorship Scheme for the Electric Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Industry

SME Sponsorship Scheme for Safety Equipment for the Electric Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Industry
(Course requirements updates: Holders of a valid certificate for an electric vehicle maintenance course recognized by the Vehicle Maintenance Technical Advisory Committee of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department may be exempted from enrolling in the course.)

To enhance work safety in the electric vehicle repair and maintenance industry, the Council launches the sponsorship scheme for electric vehicle repair and maintenance SMEs to purchase safety equipment and personal protective equipment that meet safety standards.

OSH Enhancement Scheme for SMEs for Safe Work at Confined Space

To further improve the work safety in confined space, the Council launches OSH Enhancement Scheme for SMEs for Safe Work at Confined Space for SMEs to purchase confined space safety equipment, and offer training courses and risk assessment for free.

SME Sponsorship Scheme for Fall Arresting Equipment for Renovation & Maintenance Work and Construction Industry

To improve working at height safety, the Council and the Labour Department launch the scheme for renovation & maintenance and construction SMEs to purchase Transportable Temporary Anchor Devices, Full Body Harness, Improved “I” Shape and “T” Shape Truss-out Metal Bracket, Metal Detector and Torque Wrench.

Enhanced light-duty working platform sponsorship scheme 3.0 for SMEs

Employees of various industries need to work above ground occasionally. Using appropriate working platform would prevent falling from height accidents. To enhance the safety at work, the Council and the Labour Department launch the Enhanced Light Duty Platform Sponsorship scheme 3.0 for SMEs to purchase step platform or hop-up platform that comply with safety standard.

Log-out Tag-out Kit (lite version) Sponsorship Scheme

Lockout Tagout Kit (lite version) Sponsorship Scheme

In order to allow workers to use a lighter Lockout Tagout Kit for electrical work, the Council launches the Lockout Tagout Kit (lite version) Sponsorship Scheme. By using lighter materials for locks and removing locks with repeated functions, the weight of the Lockout Tagout Kit is reduced. It is convenient for workers to carry and they are encouraged to perform Lockout Tagout during electrical work to prevent electrical injuries.

Tool Lanyard Sponsorship Scheme for SMEs

To reduce the risk associated with dropped hand tools, the Council and the Labour Department launch the “Tool Lanyard Sponsorship Scheme” to assist the Construction SMEs to purchase tool lanyards that comply with the safety standard. This simple piece of safety equipment helps to secure the hand tool to an appropriate anchor point such as worker’s wrist and safety harness, eye bolt, etc. to prevent falling tools from height.
