OSH Employees' Participation Scheme

Introduction

Occupational Safety and Health Employees’ Participation Scheme aims at providing financial support to encourage labour union, employees’ association, employees of the business enterprises and the service agencies for employees from ethnic minorities and new arrivals under organization/non-profit association, to organize activities related to occupational safety and health in order to increase employees’ awareness and to reduce work injuries. The activities can come in the form of seminars, workshops, quiz shows, game booths, publications production, outdoor activities or other activities that the Occupational Safety and Health Council considers suitable. The maximum amount of sponsorship is HK$52,000.

Three sponsorship schemes are offered to meet different needs of the applicant organization:
Scheme A
(Maximum amount of sponsorship: HK$52,000)
The applicant organization shall belong to one of the following categories :
Class 1. trade union registered in Hong Kong Special Administrative
  1.               Region (HKSAR); or
    Class 2. staff union or association registered in HKSAR
Scheme B
(Maximum amount of sponsorship: HK$18,000)
  1. The applicant organization shall belong to one of the following categories :
    Class 1. trade union registered in HKSAR; or
    Class 2. staff union or association registered in HKSAR, or
Class 3. non-registered employees’ association recommended by
              employer (please refer to note 1-2)
Note:
1. Company must be established in HKSAR.
2. Employees’ association and safety committee that formed under
    company or required to report to the company’s management
    are not qualified for this scheme.
Scheme C
(Maximum amount of sponsorship: HK$52,000)
  1. The applicant organization shall belong to one of the following categories and the activities held by the applicant organization shall be serving employees from ethnic minorities and/or new arrivals working in HKSAR:
    Class 1. trade union registered in HKSAR; or
    Class 2. staff union or association registered in HKSAR; or
    Class 4. union / non-profit association / registered society
  2.               serving employees from ethnic minorities and new arrivals
  3.               working in HKSAR
                  (4a) Tax-Exempt non-profit association registered in                       HKSAR; or
  4.               (4b) Charitable Institution and Trust of a Public Character   
  5.                       registered in HKSAR

All applications should be made at least 8 weeks prior to the proposed commence date of the activity, otherwise OSHC reserves the right to reject the application.

A copy of public liability and related insurance policy for the sponsored activities shall be submitted to OSHC 2 weeks prior to the activities.

Activities Report shall be submitted to OSHC within 60 calendar days after the completion of the activities, which must include an evaluation on the objective achievement, statement of income and expenditure with relevant receipts and relevant promotional items.

Applicant organizations only need to fill in a simple application form and return with supporting documents. Application can be submitted throughout the year with at least 8 weeks prior to the proposed commence date of the activity.


Submission of Activities Report

Applicant organization shall submit an Activities Report within 60 calendar days after the completion of the activities. Please refer to the below checklist and guidelines:
