Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Award

"21st Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Award" aims to recognize organizations with outstanding achievements in the field of Occupational Safety and Health and to allow the winning entries to share their valuable experiences and best practices. The Award can help to improve competitiveness and productivity of the organizations, and gain recognition from customers, shareholders and the society. The campaign is held from May 2022 to January 2023. You are welcome to participate in the Online Briefing Session Cum Seminar on 3 August 2022. The online seminar cum briefing session will announce the details of the Award and will feature winning organizations’ sharing of their successful experience.

Enrollment will be closed on 26 July 2022. You are welcome to participate.

Online Seminar Cum Briefing Session : 03/08/2022

“The Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Award” was launched in 2002, as an important platform for promoting cross-industry occupational safety and health in Hong Kong, it aims to:
☑ Raise organizations with outstanding achievements in the field of OSH;
☑ Provide a communication platform to share the OSH experience from different industries;
☑ Provide a benchmark for excellence in your best practices by enhancing OSH, which in turn improves your OSH performance and productivity;
☑ Optimize the OSH policy of various industries, enhance the safety culture in the organization and improve the safety standard of Hong Kong in long term.

Categories of Awards
1. Safety Management System Award – to recognize those organisations that have outstanding achievements in OSH through the implementation of sound safety management systems.
- Sub-award: 5S Good Housekeeping Best Practices Award

2. Safety Performance Award – to recognize those organisations that can demonstrate an outstanding performance in OSH within a particular sector.
- Sub-award: Rookie Safety Performance Award

3. OSH Enhancement Program Award - to recognize those organisations with outstanding achievements in developing specialized OSH enhancement programs to reduce safety and health risks, and that are effective in promoting safety, health and productivity.
- Sub-award: OSH Innovative Award

4. OSH Promotion Award - to recognize those organisations with brilliant results in organising promotional activities to improve its occupational safety and health standard.

5. Occupational Rehabilitation Award - to recognize those organisations aiming to reduce occupational accidents and diseases by providing a comprehensive occupational rehabilitation program to the injured employees for a better and speedier recovery and to facilitate their safe and early return-to-work.

6. OSH Annual Report Award - to recognize those organisations with excellence in the presentation of OSH performance and community development information in annual reports or sustainability reports.

7. Work Safe Behaviour Award - to recognize those organisations with excellence in practicing work safe behaviour program in their workplaces as a continuous improvement effort to enhance the safety awareness of their staff and strengthen their safety attitude.
- Sub-award: Pointing and Calling Best Practices Award

8. Safety Culture Award - to recognize organisations and contractors that adopt safety culture approach with integration of some key elements of “Vision Zero” to enhance their safety management.

CPD unit under Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme: 6

The Council and Labour Department together with government departments, industry shareholders organize "21st Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Award" Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony. The Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on 6 February 2023(Monday). Different categories of awards will be announced and presented during the ceremony. Awardees will share their best practice on occupational safety and health. “OSH WhatsApp Sticker Design Competition 2021-2022”Ceremony organized by The Council and Metro Info from Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited will be held on that day as well.

Applicants must provide ID no. and email address for getting the statement of attendance. A confirmation email with details will be sent to participants enrolled. The highlights of the Safety Forum and Award Presentation will be available after the event.

Enrolment will be closed on 31 January 2023 (Tuesday). You are welcome to participate.
