Joyful@Healthy Workplace Programme

Work and health are closely related. A healthy workplace not only protects the physical well-being and life of employees, it also enhances productivity and competitiveness, and helps to establish a positive image for the organisation. A healthy workplace promotes a win-win situation for both employers and employees.

The Department of Health, Labour Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Council launch the "Joyful@Healthy Workplace" programme. A series of activities will be organised to assist employers and employees to create a joyful and healthy working environment. The programme focuses on three areas, "Healthy Eating", "Physical Activity" and "Mental Health".

Joyful@Healthy Workplace Best Practices Award

To promote a corporate culture that prioritises employees’ physical and mental health, we launch the "Joyful@Healthy Workplace" Best Practices Award.

Winning organisations could win a chance for staff members to attend free interest class, such as cooking and art jamming.

Details of the Programme

1. Well-being or Mental Health Workshop

(I) In-house Workshop
Each organisation can apply for ONE free workshop in 2025-2026. No. of participants: 25-50
  (A) Healthy Eating - Weight Management Workshop (1 hour)
        Nutritionists will share information on healthy eating, including tips for healthy daily lunches and points on weight management.
  (B) Healthy Cooking Workshop (1 hour) 
        Nutritionists will share recipes of healthy dishes, participants could cook by themselves.
  (C) Chinese Medicine Dietetic Strategies Workshop (1 hour)
        Chinese medicine practitioners will brief participants the dietetic theories, including seasonal health preservation and ways of conditioning during recovery in common diseases.
  (D) Chronic Pain Relief at Workplace Workshop (1 hour) 
        Physiotherapists explain common chronic pain symptoms and teach participants how to relieve.
  (E) Let's Chill Yoga Experiential Workshop (1 hour 30 mins) 
        Instructors lead participants to relax through yoga.
  (F) Wu Shu Workshop (1 hour) 
        Instructors will guide participants in Tai Chi or Ba Duan Jin practice.
  (G) Slow Jogging Experiential Workshop​ (1 hour) NEW!!
        The instructors will offer participants guidance on how to perform slow jogging correctly, covering techniques regarding running strides, breathing, and postures, etc.
  (H) Mental Well-being Workshop (1 hour)
        Instructors will share knowledge and skills of positive psychology in the workplace, making work more enjoyable with positivity.
  (I) Zentangle Mindful Art Workshop (1 hour)
        Instructors will teach Zentangle art and its techniques. Having a chance to draw, participants could alleviate stress.

(II) Seminars or Online Seminars
Seminars will be held regularly. Topics focus on healthy eating, physical activity and mental health.

2. Tailor-made Advisory Services for Organisations

Professionals from relevant fields would, subject to the different needs of the participating organisations, provide tailor-made advisory service to assist the organisations in sustaining the promotion of healthy eating and physical activity.

3.  Health Check-up Kit

(I) Health Check-up Kit on Loan
Participating organisations are welcome to borrow the Health Check-up Kit. The kit includes: Health check devices on hand grip, lower back flexibility, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI).

(II) Health Check-up Kit Funding Scheme (Priority would be given to SMEs)
This Scheme provides one set of health check devices on blood pressure and waist measurement for chartered organisations. By placing the free-of-charge devices in the workplace, employees are encouraged to use them and keep track of personal health.
